Jönköping University offers more preparatory programs

Since the spring semester of 2016, JU has offered preparatory programmes in English for international students. JU now offers preparatory programmes in mathematics and engineering as well.

JU offers Pathway Programmes for international students who wish to deepen their skills in languages, mathematics and science. The goal for the Pathway Programmes is to prepare students for a life in Sweden and provide them with the best base for further higher studies at Jönköping University or any other Swedish university. The activities are conducted by the company Jönköping University Enterprise.

Spring Semester 2016, the first students started a Pathway Program at Jönköping University. Then there was the possibility to choose to study a semester, an academic year or an intensive summer course, to improve their English skills. Now it is also possible to study Pathway for Business and Pathway for Engineering, one semester or a whole academic year. All programmes aim to prepare the students for further academic studies.

Pathway for Business is aimed at those who are interested in economics and entrepreneurship. Students will gain knowledge equivalent to English 6, and the mathematics required to study any of our graduate programmes in Business Administration at JIBS.

Pathway for Engineering focuses on mathematics, physics and chemistry for those who already meet the English requirements but need to improve their knowledge in mathematics and science to meet the requirements of our graduate programs at the School of Engineering. Pathway for Engineering offered in cooperation with School of Engineering.

“We are very proud and excited about the opportunity to offer courses in Pathway Programmes in cooperation with School of Engineering. We hope to eventually reach more international student groups and continue our expansion”, says Hanna Ståhl, Managing Director of Jönköping University Enterprise.

Pathway for Business starts in January 2017 and Pathway for Engineering starts in August 2017.
