A new software package for pc is produced every second year. The package is basically unchanged between the revisions with the exception of security updates and bug fixing.
Staff members with a customized computer may run an older software package as long as they like, but support and maintenance will only be given on the latest package. When a problem on a computer with older software package is reported to
IT Helpdesk , the primary action is to reinstall the computer with the newest package. Mandatory modification or business decisions may result in the software change to take place earlier.
Programs distributed on the network ("bundles") are made for and tested only on the latest program package.
