Outstanding Paper Award winner

Professor Friederike Welter, together with Dr. Kerstin Ettl from the University of Siegen, has won the Outstanding Paper Award of the International Journal of Gender and Entrepreneurship for their article “Gender context and entrepreneurial learning”.

The award is given by the annual Emerald Literati Networks Awards for Excellence, a part of Emerald Group Publishing, which is the world´s leading scholarly publisher of journals and books in business and management. The award winning papers are nominated by each journal’s editorial team, many of who are eminent academics or managers.

The paper was published in the International Journal of Gender and Entrepreneurship, volume 2, number 2. It contributes a different and so far neglected perspective on entrepreneurial learning and opportunity recognition. Findings are based on 31 in-depth interviews with women entrepreneurs and 23 interviews with key experts.

Friederike Welter also won the award last year, for the paper “A gender-aware framework for women´s entrepreneurship, ” together with Candida G Brush and Anne de Bruin.
