Global Forum in Gothenburg

Associate Professor Charlotta Mellander will give a lecture at the Global Forum in Gothenburg on 21 November.

Business Region Gothenburg, Gothenburg & Co Business Group and the Region Västra Götaland organize a seminar during the Global Forum 2011, entitled “The attractive knowledge region of the future?"

What is required for cities and regions to attract the right skills? How do we create conditions for growth? High competence and a strong innovation environment are considered the most important competitive tools for global growth. More and more countries emerge from poverty and become competitive through better education, skills and focus on business.

During the seminar, Charlotta Mellander , Associate Professor of Economics at JIBS, will give a lecture entitled “The Wealth of Places." Mellander will, among other things, talk about whether it´s really the job opportunities in other areas that make people move, or if it is actually the workforce that will attract jobs. You can expect an exciting lecture and learn more about what factors actually make people move or stay in certain places in today´s society.
