Responsible Enterprise 7,5 Credits

Course Contents

The course introduces students to core issues in enterprise responsibilities, stimulating student discussion on sustainability and ethical issues in business. Key topics during the course include theories of responsibility, sustainability, ethic and the management of these key areas of business behaviour ethics.

Connection to Research and Practice

During the course, we will be exploring and applying the latest scientific literature on the topics of ethics and corporate responsibility to discuss how managers can exercise their innovative competencies to express their core values and face the normative challenges they encounter in everyday business operations. In this course, however, we apply the latest approaches to action-based theories of ethics to bring business and ethics together in powerful, novel and useful ways. Navigating the complex connections between responsible management and business innovation is a particular focus of the course. The course investigates how ethical expression can actually drive innovation rather than dampen it. Managing a responsible enterprise in the 21st century is a way to exercise creativity and imagination and, in this course, we develop competencies for doing that.
