Intercultural and International Communication 7,5 Credits

This course is designed for students/professionals wishing to gain the tools for building international ties and covers two key concepts that are essential in today´s globalized world: contact between cultures and modes of communication.

Course Contents

Both cross-cultural (comparisons of communication across cultures) and intercultural (communication between members of different cultures) communication are emphasized. The subject is explored through a variety of topics including: cultural inheritance and Swedish mentality, cultural values and identity, as well as multiculturalism and cultural change. In order to create a diverse learning environment, the course welcomes both international and Swedish students as well as professionals.

Prerequisites

  • General entrance requirements.
  • Fluency in English equivalent to at least a 575 (paper-based scale) or 90 (internet-based scale) TOEFL score. IELTS: with an overall band score of 6.5 and no part under 5.5. Competency in Swedish language is not required.
