Sustainable Communication 15 Credits

Sustainable Communication studies the relationship between media and communication and sustainability. Sustainability is approached from an environmental, social and economic point of view. The course also studies Corporate Social Responsibility in relation to communication.

Course Contents

  • Sustainable development and media
  • Media’s role in a globalized risk society
  • Communication and relations between media, politics, science and the public
  • CSR, green washing, and green marketing
  • Field work with ethnographic media studies approach

Prerequisites

The applicant must hold the minimum of a bachelor's degree (i.e. the equivalent of 180 ECTS credits at an accredited university) with at least 90 ECTS credits in media and communication studies, including independent, theoretical based work, i.e. a thesis or the equivalent. English 6/English B in the Swedish upper secondary school system or international equivalent. Exemption is granted from the requirement in Swedish.
