A friend of his came back from an exchange at Jönköping University and told him that the atmosphere was great. After a year in Jönköping, Spanish student Jaime Ocón can confirm this.
Jaime studies Telecommunication Engineering at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. At the School of Engineering he has been studying Embedded Systems.
"From my point of view, the education method is very good, because there are practical sessions for all the theoretical classes you have. And also, Jönköping is a really nice city; you will fall in love with it."
The dark winter came as a shock to Jaime as did the light summer. In December, Sweden only gets a few hours of sunlight, the sun sets around 3 p.m. On the other hand, in June, the sun does not set until 10 p.m. and it rises again at 3.30 a.m.
"The winter was cold and dark, but also very charming. To get on, you just have to think of the summer which is very nice, and light, here."
One of the things that helped Jaime get through the winter was all the international and Swedish friends he had met.
"All the moments that I spent with my new friends were golden. It's really the people that make the place and Swedish people are really nice and friendly. It's worth visiting Sweden, because it is a beautiful country."
