EndNote courses

The library offers courses in EndNote, a software program to manage references and bibliographies. Courses are arranged by appointment at the library or any other suitable place at the university.

Introduction course

The course is held at a general level and no previous knowledge of the system is required but basic computer skills and some experince in database searching. Time for hands-on practise is included and you may also ask questions about certain databases and their compatibility with EndNote. The course is mainly aimed at researchers and postgraduate students but is also open for all staff at Jönköping University.

Please contact Stefan Carlstein (for HLK, JIBS, JTH) or Gunilla Brushammar (HHJ) if you want us to arrange an introduction to EndNote. We will then together decide upon a suitable date and place. The contents of the introduction can be specifically suited for your needs.

Manage your references with EndNote

If you have a laptop and is a member of staff at Jönköping University, you can buy the EndNote software on a CD at IT HelpDesk for 20 SEK.

On completion of the introduction course the participant will be able to:

  • manage groups in EndNote​
  • import references from a variety of different databases to EndNote
  • manually adding references to the EndNote library
  • use EndNote's plug-in software Cite-While-You-Write in Word to insert citations in the running text and creating a bibliography
  • adjust the settings to reference styles such as APA, Vanvouver etc.
