A close collaboration between the Jönköping University and the County Council of Jönköping has been going on for several years.

When the four faculty schools together with the County Council received fundings from Vinnvård to the research program Bridging the gaps, new steps towards a more formal collaboration were taken - and the constitution of the Jönköping Academy was possible, a formation that also attracted the municipalities within the county.

The guidelines from the National Board of Health and Welfare - Good health care - describes different areas of future goals within in health care - areas that are reflected in our activities. Swedish health care do have good results in a global comparison, but new needs and challenges do require new approaches.

Close collaboraters within our own County Council are the development unit Qulturum and the research unit Futurum. Together we create new arenas and possibilities for practicians, researchers and different research subjects.
