Fyery Adhena Abreha nails her doctoral thesis

MMTC member and PhD candidate Fyery Adhena Abreha has reached an important milestone in her doctoral journey: the traditional nailing of her doctoral thesis at Jönköping International Business School (JIBS).
The nailing ceremony is a longstanding academic tradition marking that a doctoral thesis is complete, approved and ready to be publicly defended. As part of the tradition, Karin Hellerstedt External link, opens in new window., Professor of Business Administration and Acting Associate Dean of Research at JIBS, signed Fyery’s thesis to approve it for nailing – using Fyery’s back as a writing surface before the thesis was nailed to the wall.
Fyery’s thesis is titled “Internal and External Legitimacy Challenges of Religious Hybrid Organizations: The Case of Monasteries.” Her research examines the legitimacy challenges faced by religious hybrid organizations, with a particular focus on monasteries.
Fyery was joined for the occasion by her family, colleagues and first supervisor, Timur Uman, who were there to celebrate the completion of her thesis and this important step in her doctoral journey.
Public defence on 26 August
Fyery will defend her doctoral thesis in Business Administration at a public defence on Wednesday, 26 August 2026 at 1:15 pm in B1014 at JIBS.
