Our vision

One team, through creative engineering building a competitive solar car, crossing Australia and challenging the world in Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. We want to contribute to sustainability, innovation and a source of inspiration for younger generation.

Our challenge

The Bridgestone World Solar Challenge is the world’s biggest solar-powered car race. It started in 1987 and takes place every other year. In the competition, teams from all over the world are going to drive 3022 kilometers from the north to the south of Australia – from Darwin to Adelaide.

Our solar car

This year, we have chosen to build on the same concept as Solveig. Our design for 2019 is calculated to have 20% less weight, 20% lower drag coefficient and improved efficiency for the electrical system.

Finally, the time has come. Meet the four drivers that will drive our solar-powered car, Axelent, across Australia this October. 😍⠀ But this is not the end. A full-length video with never-before-seen scenes will be up on August 12th.

Who are the four drivers of JU Solar Team? In this second teaser, you can see how the drivers go into the sauna to simulate the feeling of being in the canopy of the solar car while crossing the Australian desert. ☀️⠀ This Friday, the last part and also the drivers will be presented. One of the most frequent questions we get is "Who is going to drive the car?". Well, your wait is almost over as we are on the verge of disclosing the chosen four. ⠀ In this first teaser, you can see some of the tests that our drivers have to go through.
