More Mexican Students to Gränna as Summer School Expands
Over four weeks this summer, 31 Mexican high school students gathered in Gränna to take part in the Jönköping University Youth Summer School. The programme introduced them to Swedish culture, how Swedish companies work with sustainability, and, perhaps most importantly, gave them memories to last a lifetime.“The four weeks in Sweden felt like a dream, and I really enjoyed my time in Gränna. It is such a beautiful and peaceful place. I learned a lot about the differences between Mexican and Swedish culture. I also learned that Swedes genuinely enjoy looking for new ways to improve their own lives and the lives of others. I truly loved Sweden and the sense of safety I felt here,” said Carolina Flores Carvajal from IEST Anahuac.

World-leading aluminium expert bolsters JU’s research
Jönköping University is strengthening its research in metal casting by recruiting world-leading researcher and aluminum expert Professor Murat Tiryakioğlu. With support from the Swedish Research Council, he will be conducting research at JU for one year. This recruitment marks the first major initiative within the framework of the new research center, the Swedish Metalcasting Excellence Center (SMEC).
