Graduation ceremony for Pathway students in Gränna

On April 29, there was a joyful and expectant atmosphere at Campus Gränna when this year’s Pathway students at Jönköping University Enterprise gathered to complete their studies. Just over 80 students from Asia, Africa, Europe, and North and South America celebrated that they are now ready to take the next step in their education.

The day began with a ceremony where students, family members, friends, and staff came together for speeches, music, and the awarding of diplomas. During the ceremony, both teachers and students shared their experiences from the past year and reflected on memories and thoughts from their time together. The celebration then continued with a mingle session, where many took the opportunity to take photos with classmates and loved ones.

“It was very touching to hear what the students and teachers meant to each other. That is something I will take with me from this day,” says Emilia Samuelsson, Operations Manager and Associate Dean of Education at Jönköping University Enterprise.

A day filled with emotions

For the students, the day brought a mix of emotions. Jose Francisco Carmona Bazan, who studied the Pathway Year General programme, says he will miss his time in Gränna while also looking forward to the next step, as he has applied to a programme at Jönköping University starting this autumn.

“I feel a bit sad because I have formed such strong bonds with the people here, but at the same time, I am excited about what comes next,” says Jose Francisco Carmona Bazan.

For Rabail Nazli Akhtar, who studied the Pathway Semester English programme, it feels emotional not to see her classmates every day.

“I didn’t expect Pathway to become so important to me. It feels like a family, and I will truly miss it. I love trying new things, and this has been one of the best experiences of my life,” says Rabail Nazli Akhtar.
