“Cook something unnecessarily complicated”
This summer, Jönköping University (JU) is offering a dose of inspiration. Every week, staff from different parts of JU share their top summer tips – everything from hidden gems and day-trip destinations to personal favourites for relaxation and that holiday feeling. This tip comes from Björn Erfors, lecturer at the School of Health and Welfare at JU.

What are your plans for this summer?
It’ll be non-stop with the kids travelling around Sweden and Denmark. It’s actually quite nice not to have things too organized. You get enough of that the rest of the year.
Do you have a favourite spot in Jönköping or the surrounding area?
My garden – you can pick berries and fruit whenever you fancy. Water fights when it’s hot. Go camping if you feel like it. Start dinner straight after your morning coffee. Listen to music and enjoy long evenings with friends or in the hammock. It brings a sense of effortless calm, and time stands still.
What’s your best summer tip?
Cook something unnecessarily fiddly that takes days to prepare.
