The Jönköping University Pedagogic Prize aims to promote, recognise and reward pedagogic efforts or pedagogic leadership.

Criteria for the pedagogic prize

The recipient of the pedagogic prize must have been very successful in: 

  • increasing understanding of a subject by contextualising it,
  • developing or refining subject didactic methods, textbooks or teaching aids,
  • implementing new ideas for teaching and learning or
  • supporting new initiatives to enhance teaching.

Nomination procedure

To nominate or be nominated, you must be employed by JU, and your employment with the University must be for at least 40% of full time.

Nominations must include: 

  • Nominee's name, employment and school
  • Category (at least one of the four categories above)
  • Information about when the pedagogic contribution was made
  • Clear nomination statement not exceeding 500 words

Nominations for 2021 are open until 10 March 2022. Please submit your nomination, including any supporting documentation, to NUF@ju.se.

The Board of Education and Research Education ranks the nominees, and the President of JU then selects a recipient for the award.

Recognition and prize

The recipient will be announced at the academic ceremony. The prize is personal and consists of a diploma, an honorable mention and SEK 20,000 in prize money to use for professional development.

The recipient of the prize hands in a brief description of how they plan to use the prize money and in what way the planned activities will enhance their competence. The proposal is subject to written approval by the President of JU.

The dean of the prizewinner's school must ensure that the plan is carried out and report back to the President.

The recipient of the prize must give an open lecture in connection with the academic ceremony.
