  • Segregation has changed fundamentally


    Sweden has become both more ethnically and economically segregated over the past 30 years. A new study from Jönköping University (JU) shows that areas with a large share of residents with a foreign background are now more likely to be characterized by lower incomes, lower employment rates, and lower levels of education than in the past.

  • Major international project aims to improve conditions for amputees


    People living with an amputation currently face significant disparities in access to rehabilitation, prosthetic care, and follow-up care depending on where they live. Jönköping University will now lead an international research project aimed at identifying areas for improvement and contributing to more equitable, evidence-based, and person-centered care. The project has a budget of nearly 10 million euros spread over five years and is funded by Horizon Europe.

  • Parental leave in management can strengthen small business development


    Parental leave is often seen as beneficial for families and society as a whole—but it is sometimes perceived as a potential problem in small firms. When key members in these firms are absent for a period, it is assumed that the pace of development may slow down. A new study from Jönköping International Business School at Jönköping University does not support this view.On the contrary, parental leave within management teams can be linked to increased innovation.
