Data analytics, where huge amounts of data are analyzed in order to extract useful and actionable information, has become a crucial activity for many organizations. The aim of the project Data-driven technologies for marketing, information, news and enterprises (DATAMINE) is to develop efficient data-driven techniques for automatically generating personalized content of high-quality.
For high-tech and innovation-driven companies, data analytics is a vital component in several processes driving long-term success. A key aspect of these processes is the ability to efficiently store, process and analyze data.
Increased data collection and analysis capabilities present unique challenges and possibilities, and successful integration of data analytics into different processes enables competitive advantages to be gained and maintained. The project is addressing industry-relevant problems, as identified by the three industrial partners Hall Media, Stena Line and Pdb to empower novel and cutting-edge services.
The purpose of this research project is to develop efficient data-driven techniques for automatically generating personalized content of high-quality, both in the form of news and adverts. The project will also address key questions related to company strategies when deciding to employ data analytics for decision support.
Research findings, typically manifested as algorithms or methods, will be deployed as software solutions and evaluated at the partnering companies: Hall Media, Stena Line and Pdb.
Expected results include improved and tailor-made algorithms, but also guidelines describing best practices.
The project runs 2017-2020 and is co-funded by Region Jönköpings län.
