Global Perspectives on Health and Welfare 10 Credits

This course provides the opportunity for future (health) professionals anywhere in the world to develop and apply knowledge, skills and awareness related to health and welfare in a global context.

Course Contents

- assessing, identifying and critically reviewing reports and articles
- social determinants of health and the consequences on disease and disability
- International Classification on Functioning Disability and Health (ICF)
- UN Sustainable Development Goals
- Universal Declaration of Human Rights
- strategies for promoting health in diverse contexts and facilitate community development
- cultural competence and culturally sensitive health and welfare approaches

Prerequisites

General entry requirements and passed courses at least 30 credits. Proof of English proficiency is required.
