Upon completion of the course the student should have the ability to:

  • explain different perspectives on health and welfare
  • explain theoretical models of disability
  • discuss the implications of models of disability for rehabilitation
  • discuss cultural perspectives on health and disability
  • explain client centered practice
  • explain the Conventions on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
  • discuss the important of quality improvement in health services.

  • apply the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) in classifying impairments
  • classify health interventions according to the International Classification of Health Interventions (ICHI).
