Seven out of ten new educations granted for Higher Vocational Education at the School of Engineering
The Department of Higher Vocational Education (HVE) at the School of Engineering (JTH), Jönköping University (JU), has had seven out of ten new applied educations approved by the Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education.
"We are happy and proud of the continued trust from MYH," says Mats Kihlman, Head of Department for the Higher Vocational Education at JTH.
The new HVE programmes starts this fall. JTH has a total of 20 HVE programmes this spring and autumn.
Of the 1,258 applications received from Higher Vocational Education departments in Sweden, the Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education has granted a total of 477 educations. Mats Kihlman is happy and proud of the high acceptance rate of a whopping 70 percent for the Yh degree programs that JTH has applied for.
"That is significantly higher than the national average of 38 percent. We see this as recognition of the high quality with which we conduct our educations. Our strong connection to the business world and our ability to, together with employing companies, produce and develop educations that solve their skill needs are decisive for success. It is through the close collaboration that we have been able to design educations that not only meet current, but also future needs within the industries, says Mats Kihlman. He continues:
"We are grateful for the continued trust from both working life and the Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education to continue this important work", says Mats Kihlman.
"Very important collaboration"
The programme for Real Estate Engineer, which is conducted together with Campus Värnamo, Värnamo municipality, is one of the new granted HVE programme at JTH.
"Through our involvement in the Real Estate Engineer programme, we must be up-to-date on new trends in sustainable building development, which contributes to our own development within the company. We get very close to these students, which makes it easier when we need to recruit the right staff, says Johnny Grauengaard, CEO at bsv architects & engineers.
He sees the collaboration with the HVE department at JTH as very important and mentions that it is of great importance to them as a knowledge-based company.
"It is important that school and industry can work closely together in vocational training, he says.
"Education is important for the region's business life"
Caisa Björndal, business developer at LogPoint and Södra Munksjön Utvecklings AB and chair of the management group for the Yh programme Valuecreating logistics is very happy that JTH got to start that programme this fall.
"This training is important for the continued development of the region's business life and for our region to continue to be a center for logistics, says Caisa Björndal.
