SPARK's and the School of Engineering’s (JTH) research and education within the framework of knowledge-intensive product realization constantly contribute to the sustainability goals set by the UN, the so-called Sustainability Development Goals (SDG). The SDGs identified by our colleagues that we focus on the most are the SDGs 4, 9, 11 and 12.

SPARK and JTH currently support the development of an analysis tool that will enable our contribution to the SDGs to be mapped. The hope going forward is that all projects, already in the initial stage, will address how answering the research question may contribute to the designated SDGs or, alternatively, to other SDGs depending on the research question.

Working in order to create and preserve sustainable societal development is a matter of course for us at SPARK and Jönköping University (JU), where “Sustainability” is one of the 5 strategies that JU must work towards. One way to do this is to make visible how we strive for the fulfillment of the SDGs.
