75 new students at JTH

Tuva Sokolovski and Jenny Sjökvist are two of the approximately 75 students studying the Basic Science Semester programme at JTH, guaranteeing them a place on one of the school's engineering programmes.
"It is quite fast-paced, but that's how I wanted it," says Jenny Sjökvist.

The duo think that the preparatory education they are studying is rewarding and that their teachers are pedagogical and supportive.
"They are really great and it genuinely feels like they want the best for us," says Jenny Sjökvist, who is interested in programming and is considering studying the five-year Master's programme in Computer Science and Engineering at JTH.

Her classmate Tuva Sokolovski thinks the Basic Science Semester programme is a great opportunity for the future, as it gives you a reserved place on the school's engineering programmes.

The teachers at the Basic Science Semester programme are the lecturers Christer Magnusson, Jonelija Zelic and Pär Sandström and Assistant Professor Thomas Biro.

"‘The students who study the Basic Science Semester programme become accustomed to fast-paced studies in a university environment and are well prepared for future studies. They are very positive and interested and understand that good prior knowledge in the subjects we have in the programme is very important to cope with the upcoming engineering education," says Christer Magnusson, programme manager for the Basic Science Semester programme and course manager for its two physics courses.
