Valuable research insights through EULiST
Maryam Gulzar, a doctoral student from the Software Engineering Department at LUT University in Finland, is doing an exchange at JTH through the alliance EULiST (European Universities Linking Society and Technology).
Maryam Gulzar's research focuses on the use of AI for operational tasks within organizations. She will be at the Department of Logistics and Operations Management at JTH and supervised by Professor Annika Engström.
"We learn a lot"
"We learn a lot from Maryam's research. She brings a perspective that we do not have in our team, so it really complements the way we conduct research. It opens doors for more collaborations between us and LUT University and not least, it adds energy to bring new people into the team," says Annika Engström.
In addition to preparing her dissertation, Maryam will co-author both a publication on expectations and a book chapter on AI-driven functions in organizations. She will also gain insight into how JTH collaborates with companies in research projects, which she has no previous experience of.
Feeling at home
Maryam feels at home at JTH and believes that the exchange will be mutually beneficial and lead to valuable insights for both JTH and LUT.
"This is the first time I am doing a slightly longer exchange at another university. I am looking forward to learning more about how JTH collaborates with companies, which will be useful in my future career," she says.
Maryam's exchange at JTH will last for one month until September 18.
