Great reception for the JTH song – listen here!

The School of Engineering theme song “People First” is now available on both YouTube and Spotify.

“It is a simple pop song, and of course it is great if listeners think it sounds good. What I am most pleased with is how my colleagues play and sing and the joy and commitment that shaped our little music project,” says Joakim Brobäck, Senior Lecturer in Industrial economy at JTH, who wrote the song.

At the end of 2025, The JTH Band was formed, consisting of employees from the school. They headed into the South Bank Studio in Huskvarna to record a pop song on the theme of "People first," which also became the title of the track.

"The message, or rather the feeling, in the song is hopefully energy, joy, and a forward-looking spirit. I see it as a kind of invitation to new colleagues, students, and partners to join us at JTH," says Joakim Brobäck.

"The song turned out incredibly well"

The initiative came from Joakim Brobäck and JTH's Managing Director and Dean Ingrid Wadskog, who thought it would be fun to create a song on the theme of "People first" with an in-house JTH band. They saw an opportunity to highlight optimism about the future and JU's vision with the song, while also showcasing the musical talent within the school.

"I think the song turned out incredibly well! It captures the joy, warmth, and forward-thinking spirit that exists at JTH – and the musicians and singers are world class!" says Ingrid Wadskog.

Happy to play again

The members of the JTH band received an enthusiastic reception from their colleagues for their performance of the "People First" song at Billingehus. The band has no further appearances scheduled, but Joakim Brobäck says they would be happy to play again if there is interest.
