MMTC member Rida Ijaz nails her Doctoral Thesis to the JIBS wall

On 20 August 2025, we celebrated Rida Ijaz, MMTC member, who officially nailed her doctoral thesis in Business Administration to the wall at Jönköping International Business School (JIBS).
Rida's dissertation, “Entrepreneurial Resourcefulness: The Role of Emotions and Community Embeddedness”, explores how entrepreneurs mobilize resources in creative and innovative ways. By introducing the concept of emotional resourcefulness and examining the role of shared affective experiences, the research highlights how emotions and community embeddedness shape entrepreneurial behavior.
The findings not only contribute to advancing theory but also offer important policy relevance for supporting entrepreneurs in resource-constrained contexts.
We warmly congratulate Rida on this achievement and wish her the very best in her upcoming defence.
The act of nailing the thesis to the wall is a long-standing academic tradition in Sweden, symbolizing that the work is now made public and ready to be defended. Historically, theses were literally nailed to a board for everyone in the university community to read and challenge, representing openness, transparency, and scholarly dialogue.
