Media, Management and Transformation Centre
The MMTC symposium on Innovation in the Media Industries on June 4th, exhibited an excellent line-up of speakers, including top managers from Schibsted, Expressen, TV4, SVT, as well as policy-makers, successful media startups, and high profile advertising creatives.
Chaired by Lucy Küng, Stefan Melesko and Mart Ots, the large crowd that had gathered at the Royal Library in Stockholm debated the organizational and economic challenges that media companies face in the digital transition.
Despite the challenges of the industry, speakers breathed an optimism that hinged on legacy media’s ability to leverage their large user bases to transform into digital ventures. A common theme, echoed by legacy media representatives such as Thomas Petersohn of Mittmedia and Thomas Mattsson from Expressen focused on the challenges to create a digital culture in the organizations.
