The educations are Die Casting Light Metal and Sand Casting Iron and Steel, in collaboration with RISE and the Swedish Foundry Association, and Design for additive manufacturing, in collaboration with Campus Värnamo.

"Provides the best conditions"

“One of the biggest challenges for the die casting industry, if not the biggest, in the next five years is the lack of a competent workforce for everything from operators to production technicians. A post-high school Yvocational education with practice and theory as well as access to the exceptionally good knowledge base in casting at Jönköping University and RISE, provides the best conditions for providing the industry with new skills and new employees,” says Cajsa Lundberg, CEO of Lundbergs Pressgjuteri.

The new HVE educations at JTH are intended as competence development for professionals and will be done through distance learning. The start date for the first course of the educations is planned for 9 November and applications opens on 1 August. Higher Vocational Education at JTH has received just under SEK 1.2 million for having the educations in 2022 and 2023.

"In collaboration with the industry"

“We are very happy and proud to have been granted these educations. Content and layout for them are developed in collaboration with the industry's companies and organisations to provide the required competence development to important industries,” says Mats Kihlman, Head of Department for the Higher Vocational Education at JTH.
