"JTH has bright students who are interesting for us"

The Pre-Karriärum event included speed dating, mingling, a quizz and more.

About 75 students and 50 company representatives networked at the career fair Pre-Karriärum mingling event, which was held in the gallery at the School of Engineering (JTH), Jönköping University (JU).

“This kind of event is the most fun thing in the world,” says Rebecca Frödekrans from the recruitment company Addpeople.

In addition to mingling, coffee, and quizzes, speed dating between the students and the company representatives had also been organized. Rebecca Frödekrans thought that Pre-Karriärum was a great and fun event, but that it was a challenge to stick to the four minutes in the speed dating sessions because they had such interesting conversations with the students.

“It is fun to meet and see what interest there is from the students for us and how we can be part of their future career. We are looking for personalities and not just what a person can do. It's fun to see how we can match the students to our clients,” says Rebecca Frödekrans.

"A very good networking event "

Saab Training Systems in Huskvarna was at Pre-Karriärum to present themselves, talk about what they do and raise the students' interest in them.

“This is a very good event and JTH has bright students who are interesting for us. It is also nice that there are many students that are interested in our business,” says Emil Persson, software engineer at Saab Training Systems who also studied Software Engineering and development and Mobile Platforms at JTH.

He hopes to continue networking with the students they met now at the big Karriärum fair at JTH on 8 November.

Jönköping in first place

Nishank Devaiah, an exchange student from India studying the first year of the master's programme Product Design at JTH, was at Pre-Karriärum to network with companies about their future plans and what projects they are working on to see if it is a match for his future plans.

“First of all, I will try to find a job in Jönköping, now that I am here anyway and there are several interesting companies at this fair,” says Nishank Devaiah.

"A good opportunity for me"

Alicia Liu is an exchange student from China and she is studying the third year of the New Media Design programme at JTH. She had heard that Pre-Karriärum was a very good opportunity to network with different companies and she agrees with that.

“It's a good opportunity for me to find out more about jobs that I am interested in. I was a bit nervous at first, but then we got started and then it got easier. I will keep in touch with several companies that I spoke with here. They asked me to send my CV and to get back to them after graduation. Who knows what it can lead to, it's about seizing the opportunities,” she says.

Pre-Karriärum was organized by LisaBeth Sundström, Project Coordinator at JTH, together with 14 JTH students.
