Nutritional problems among persons with dementia: analysis of Swedish quality register
In the Swedish quality register Senior Alert persons 65 years or older are registered when having a care contact. The register focusing on several different risk areas, where malnutrition is one, with the main goal of improving care, promote health and increase patient safety. Combining Senior Alert and the Swedish dementia register, Svedem, makes it possible to study preventive nutritional care for persons with dementia. The purpose of the project is to describe health care professionals’ usage and documentation of a preventive care process model as well as investigate effects when using this structured process regarding persons with dementias at risk of malnutrition.
