This course provides a rigorous foundation in corporate finance, equipping you with analytical tools to make informed investment and financing decisions. You will develop a practical understanding of key concepts such as the time value of money, investment decision rules, capital budgeting, and free cash flow modelling. Concepts are illustrated through everyday financial choices including loans, leasing, savings, and pensions. Valuation principles are extended to projects, bonds (pricing and yields), and equities (dividend-based and comparables approaches). You will also be introduced to the relationship between risk and required return, helping you interpret discount rates and the cost of capital. The course further highlights how sustainability and ESG considerations are increasingly integrated into corporate financial decisions.
