Pathway Swedish 2 7.5 credits

The purpose of the course is to provide students with a first, basic, introduction to the Swedish language that enables the student to interact with and understand their surroundings. This means that the student has command of the language in specific areas, such as personal information, feelings, shopping, local places, university or workplace or when introducing themselves. The Swedish language will be taught aiming to give students basic Swedish language skills. This will better equip students to interact with and understand their new surroundings. <br> The horizontal aim is to develop and strengthen student skills for participating in higher education, life-long learning and global citizenship through group work, social engagement, peer learning, reflective learning and autonomous learning whilst developing agency, ability to reconcile tensions and dilemmas, intercultural communication skills, metacognitive skills, information literacy and critical thinking. The purpose is also to prepare students for higher education by giving support in adjusting to the demands, challenges and expectations of higher education institutions as well as learning the Swedish language. The course will also provide knowledge of culture and society in preparation for studies and academic life.
