Research
At the Department of Nursing (AFO), research is conducted within the subject area of Nursing, with a particular focus on the individual, health, environment, and co-created care. The research targets individuals, groups, and society, and is primarily organized within the research environments Studies on Integrated Health and Welfare (SIHW) and CHILD.
Within SIHW, nursing-related research projects mainly focus on individuals with sleep disorders (including sleep apnea, insomnia, and restless legs syndrome), cardiovascular disease (with a particular emphasis on heart failure), chronic pain, and intimate partner violence in relation to dementia.
Within the CHILD research environment, studies focus on children with long-term health conditions, such as childhood cancer, as well as children with various disabilities, for example, intellectual disabilities. This environment places particular emphasis on children's participation and functioning in everyday life. Furthermore, the research within CHILD also addresses current topics such as children's sleep, screen time, and gaming habits.
