The Department of Odontology and Oral Health Sciences educates future dental hygienists with bachelor's and master's degrees. Planning is underway to start a dental program.

In collaboration with Region Jönköping County and Linköping University, Jönköping University aims to launch a new dental education program with a unique educational concept. Work is ongoing to finalize plans for an application for degree-awarding rights for a new dental program, and you can read more here.

Basic level

Tandhygienistprogrammet 180 hp

As a dental hygienist, you work with health promotion and prevention within oral health. The main focus areas of the program are oral health sciences, but you also take courses in medical, social, and behavioral sciences that cover the entire human life cycle.

Advanced level

Magisterprogram inom oral hälsovetenskap 60 hp

The master's program provides you with the opportunity to deepen your knowledge and demonstrate insight into current research and development work within oral health science, both theoretically and methodologically. The advanced-level courses offer valuable knowledge to critically and systematically integrate theory and evidence within oral health science in order to analyze, assess, and manage complex phenomena, questions, and situations.
