Research
At the Department of Social Work, research in social work focuses on societal challenges and problems, as well as their causes and consequences at different levels of analysis. Here, individuals, groups, and systems are studied, as well as the organizations and professions tasked with addressing these challenges. The research also includes studies of interactions between individuals and groups and the various actors within the welfare systems.
Approximately 35 researchers, doctoral students, and research-interested teachers work within social work research. The group is heterogeneous in terms of disciplinary background but shares a common focus on research about social problems, social work, and welfare.
Research at the School of Health Sciences is coordinated through the research environment Studies on Integrated Health and Welfare (SIHW).
ASA has several collaboration partners both within and outside the country. The ambition is to further broaden collaboration through direct research partnerships and exchanges of experiences gained through research. The internationalization work at ASA aims to create a broad network both in terms of subject matter and within the social field as well as geographically.
