With a masters degree in social work, and long experience in youth work, primairly school social practice, Diana has spent the past 6 years prior to her research career as a lecturer at the Department of Social Work at JU, specializing in client centered communication, social change, and youth work. 

Dianas research is about the relationship between school climate in middle school and academic performence (eligibility to secondary education) and transition to adulthood (educational attainment, occupation and health). 

The dissertation project is situated within the Healthy Schools Research project, a collaboration between Jönköping University, University of Gothenburg, Stockholm University, University West and two public middle schools in southern Sweden.  

The project builds on The Gothenland Millenium Cohort studies as well as recently collected data and participatory approaches with students and school staff.
