Caroline Ärleskog

Postdoc

Caroline works as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Quality Improvement and Leadership at the School of Health and Welfare. Her research relates to the national system for knowledge-driven management and health center activities. She teaches 20% of the time, focusing on supervising student theses.

Caroline received her PhD from the University of Gothenburg, Department of Sociology and Work Science, in 2024. Her thesis is in the field of sociology, with focus on organizational sociology. Caroline has a particular interest in local translation processes; how complex phenomena are put into practice and what happens within organizations when they are faced with change and development in various directions. This is also the subject of her thesis, which focuses on sustainability work in a rural context.

Caroline has an interdisciplinary background. She holds a licentiate degree in sociology, a master's degree in quality improvement and leadership (2 years), a master's degree in child and youth studies (1 year), a master's degree in social work (1 year), and a bachelor's degree in social pedagogy and social work. Her practical work experience mainly revolves around various forms of social work. Caroline also has a keen interest in issues relating to power, participation, influence, as well as spatiality.
