Susanne's compilation thesis is about news online and news users' opportunities and preferences to participate, in creating user-generated content (UGC), for example user comments. Her research has been published in the international journals Digital Journalism (Taylor & Francis, ROUTLEDGE), Social Media + Society (SAGE) and NORDICOM review and she is one of the contributing chapter authors to the Swedish Media Inquiry's research anthology Människorna, medierna & marknaden (2016: 30) [The people, the media & the market].
The research project Media Organizational Strategies and Participatory Practices was initiated by professor Tobias Olsson and associate professor Patrik Wikström. The project is financed by 80 percent by the Carl-Olof and Jenz Hamrin foundation, 20 percent by the included schools, School of Education and Communication (HLK) and Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) at Jönköping University.
Biography
Susanne is a doctor of philosophy (PhD) of Media and Communication Science, and lecturer at Jönköping University.
Susanne was previously working as a teacher in a Swedish equivalent to senior high school/upper secondary school (1998-2010), teaching various subjects related to traditional media, computer/internet use, graphic design, multimedia and producing texts for target audiences.
