Mariano Sánchez

Dr. Mariano Sánchez is Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Granada (Spain), Head of the Macrosad Chair in Intergenerational Studies and current Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences and Sociology at the same University. He has been working in the intergenerational field for more than two decades promoting initiatives that facilitate interactions and relationships between different generations. Dr. Sánchez is co-director of the International Diploma in Intergenerational Learning, an online course focused on training social professionals who would like to incorporate the intergenerational perspective into their work context. He currently collaborates with Macrosad – a social cooperative based in Southern Spain – in the development of a new evidence-informed Intergenerational Reference Center inaugurated in Albolote (Granada) in 2018. His latest co-edited book has been Intergenerational Contact Zones. Place-based Strategies for Promoting Social Inclusion and Belonging.
