Courses offered for exchange students coming to School of Engineering, Jönköping University
Important! Incoming exchange students can only choose courses at the school they are nominated to.
- A full-time study load for one semester is 30 credits. To ensure a manageable workload, we suggest choosing an even spread of courses over the full semester.
- Schedule clashes and overlaps can occur which can result in course changes during the Introduction Week.
- Please make sure that you meet the pre-requisites of the courses that you are interested in studying. Some courses have certain limitations, more information can be found in the excel document.
To get an overview of the courses (including the dates, subject areas, level) please look at the excel file. Please note that the excel document is updated several times a year so cancelled courses may be shown, any updates can be seen in the full list below.
Courses with specific requirements
Some courses require a specific course as a pre-requisite. If you are interested in one of these courses, please make sure to check with us first if you have the right pre-requisites before choosing the course!
For the following courses, it is strongly recommended that students have basic knowledge in MIN, for example, BIM-based software such as Revit, ArchiCad or equivalent.
- Parametric Design
- BIM – Management Control and Evaluations
Industrial Design courses:
Courses within Industrial Design are only available for students from a partner university with a special agreement within Design and in addition the student must be admitted to a program in Industrial Design within Mechanical Engineering at the home university. Courses within Industrial Design are studied in ’semester blocks’ and cannot be taken separately, i.e. you must take a complete semester, it is not possible to only take one or two courses.
Construction Engineering: Master level courses
- BIM – Management, Control and Evaluation: Students must have attended the course BIM – Requirements and Specifications
- Leading Advanced Socio-Technical System: Students must have attended the course Leading Sustainable Operations
Final Project Work
- In most cases, it is not possible to study the Final Project Work/Thesis course. Students interested in doing a Final Project Work must submit their application well in advance of the deadline, specifying project level (Bachelor or Master) and research area. It is the student's responsibility to find a supervisor. School of Engineering cannot guarantee to find a supervisor and/or a project.
