Leading and Organizing 7.5 credits

The course addresses fundamental perspectives on leadership and organizing. The focus is on how organizations are managed, coordinated, and developed in relation to their purpose, internal conditions, and surrounding context. Particular attention is given to contradictions, tensions, and developmental needs in organizations, as well as the role of communication, interaction, and learning. The course contributes to knowledge, skills, and abilities in management, leadership, and organizing through analysis and application of theories and models in relation to both fictional and real cases. The course includes the following elements: - operations management - learning in organizations - perspectives on change, improvement, development, and innovation - leading interaction and communication processes - leading and organizing in relation to internal and external conditions - identifying opportunities and barriers for organizational development - the relationship between technology, context, and internal organization - application of previous courses, covered methods, and models
