In this programme, students will learn the theory and practical application of state-of-the-art data-driven AI
systems. The programme features advanced level courses in AI, data science, and machine learning. Master’s thesis projects are conducted within the scope of ongoing research projects led by faculty from the Jönköping AI Laboratory. A majority of thesis projects are conducted in close collaboration with partners from the private or public sector.
The career opportunities are both excellent and diverse for AI Engineering graduates. For academically inclined students who wish to pursue a career in higher education, it is possible to apply for PhD student positions in computer science after completion of the master’s education. For students who are interested in putting theory into practice, the region of Jönköping features a wealth of companies and governmental agencies looking for AI and machine learning competence.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is often described as the ultimate challenge, sometimes it is even called the manifest destiny of computer science. Human-level machine intelligence is still in the future but applications of deep learning and edge computing are currently transforming both industry and society.
Jönköping University is establishing a strong research group in AI, which will ensure that the program is grounded in state-of-the-art research.
The School of Engineering, Jönköping University, is a member of the prestigious collaborative between leading engineering schools worldwide - the CDIO Initiative™.
