Future Educator – Today 2, Placing the Student in the Spotlight is a course under the EDUCATE umbrella (Educator Centre for Academic Teaching and Learning, Jönköping University), developed for partner universities in the EULiST alliance. The course is primarily designed to address the needs of anyone in a teaching or managerial role in academia—addressing topics in the science and art of teaching. We particularly recommend the course to doctoral students.

The course is built on the first edition of the course delivered in Autumn 2025 but is also a self-standing course with a focus on student-centered learning. The topics we will address are related to understanding the needs and characteristics of contemporary students, we will demystify the idea of student-centered learning, share design and ideas of course formats fitting within the concept of student-centered learning, and share best practices in delivery of these courses. To help you design new or revamp existing courses, we will share tools for course design, constructive alignment, and use of AI in the context of student-centered learning.

This is a great opportunity for continuous professional academic development but also an opportunity to connect with peers across the alliance.

This is a not-for-credit course: Participants receive certificate of attendance.
