Ray Nablsi
Biography
Ray Nablsi is originally from Syria and was raised in Dubai, where she spent most of her life before moving to Sweden in 2015. In Dubai, she built a strong foundation in events and brand experience by working as an events coordinator and brand representative for major international companies. Through these roles, she gained extensive hands-on experience in customer interaction, marketing communication, and coordinating high-profile events.
After relocating to Sweden, Ray completed both her bachelor’s and master’s studies in business and marketing, and she is now pursuing a PhD in Production Systems at the School of Engineering (JTH), Jönköping University.
Alongside her academic and professional journey, Ray has been actively engaged in volunteer work with several humanitarian associations, contributing to initiatives that support refugees, newcomers, and other vulnerable groups in Sweden. This engagement reflects her commitment to socially responsible development and inclusive, sustainable business practices.

Ray is a doctoral student in Production Systems at the School of Engineering (JTH), Jönköping University. Her PhD project, M2C (Manufacturing to Consumer) e-Commerce, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth (Tillväxtverket), Science Park Jönköping, and Region Jönköping County. Her research focuses on direct-to-consumer (D2C) e-commerce in manufacturing SMEs, with a particular focus on adoption processes, last-mile logistics, and logistics service quality.

Her master’s thesis, “Buy Now, Think Later? The AI Product Recommendations Effect: From Impulse Buying to Post-Purchase Emotions,” examined how AI-based product recommendations influence impulse buying behaviour and subsequent emotional responses in mobile commerce.

In her bachelor’s thesis, “Consumers’ Data: When the Private Goes Public,” Ray explored consumers’ concerns about data privacy in e-commerce through a qualitative, interview-based study, addressing issues of trust, privacy, and GDPR-aligned data handling.
