Kristina works part-time as associate professor in Quality Improvement and Leadership in Health and Welfare at Jönköping Academy for Improvement of Health and Welfare. Kristina is Professor of Public health and Rehabilitation at at Department of Behavioural Science, Oslo Metropolitan University, Norway. Since 2020, Kristina is guest Professor and Advisor of flexible education to the vice-chancellor at University West, Trollhättan. At Oslo Met Kristina works with interprofessional research and development and education in sexual health for health and welfare professionals.

Kristina´s research is interdisciplinary in the field of promoting sexual health, work environment, coproduction and in quality improvement and leadership in health and welfare. Kristina mainly researches with mixed methods and in psychometrics and has several ongoing international and national research projects .

Kristina is a popular lecturer in different settings both nationally and internationally, and she won the award "Guldskalpellen pioneer of the year 2015"  for her border-crossing research.

Kristina has a clinical background as a specialized Physiotherapist in Rheumatology and as research and development co-ordinator in rehabilitation.

In 2013 Kristina finished her PhD at Lund University with her thesis Sexual health in Rheumatoid Arthritis - a physiotherapeutic approach. Thereafter she had a postdoc-project at Lund University 2014 and at Luleå University of Technology  2015 with research in the field of communication and knowledge about sexual health among physiotherapy-, occupational therapy - and nursing students.

Kristina is main supervisor for Phd-students Patrik Haraldsson, Elin Salmiranta, Pontus Wallin , Anne-Marie Suutari ,  Ingrid Thunem (VID Specialized University) and co-supervisor for Anna ChuChu Schindele (Malmö University).
