Research

Ulrika Olausson's research is about the role of communication in establishing deep sustainability. Her latest book in Swedish Dualismens tyranni: Nio etiska principer för hållbar kommunikation (The Tyranny of Dualism: Nine Ethical Principles for Sustainable Communication ) is an example of this approach. Ulrika is currently working on the book The Ethics of Sustainable Communication: Overcoming the World of Opposites commissioned by the academic publisher Peter Lang, and with a number of anthology chapters and journal articles on the same theme.

Ulrika's research has been published in renowned international journals, e.g. Public Understanding of Science, Environmental Communication, Journalism Studies and European Journal of Communication and she has led a number of externally funded research projects, for example, “Nature meets network society: Citizens' social representations of nature in social media,” funded by the research council Formas. Ulrika is also a member of the editorial boards of the journals Environmental Communication and Frontiers in Communication: Science and Environmental Communication.
