About the programme:
Engineering Management is designed to meet the current demand for employees with specific engineering skills combined with broad managerial knowledge and capabilities. The programme is tailored for engineering graduates and will prepare you for a future in various roles within project management and management positions in engineering-focused companies. After graduation, your ability to integrate previous engineering studies with leadership skills and business acumen and to communicate effectively across the organisation will make you an attractive candidate in the job market.
All courses are delivered in English. As a student, you will work with peers with diverse engineering backgrounds, from different parts of the world. The programme is designed to build on your existing engineering knowledge. You will gain a deep understanding and an enduring learning experience through hands-on projects and direct engagement with select companies. The combination of business interaction, theoretical insight, and skills development ensures both practical relevance and academic depth.
Before starting your campus studies, you will complete an online course that will be your introduction to business and economics. The teaching on-site at Jönköping International Business School holds four sub-modules, “Foundations of Engineering Management”, “Leading with People”, “Boosting Innovation”, and “Investigating, and Reporting”. Particular focus is placed on developing your change management skills and entrepreneurial mindset. The programme concludes with the writing of your master’s thesis and a summer internship.
Upon completion of the programme, you will be well-equipped to work as an innovation manager, project manager, or change manager in companies, as well as a consultant or entrepreneur.
After graduation, you will be eligible to apply for PhD programmes at JIBS, or other PhD programmes at universities worldwide.
