About the programme:

This master’s programme provides you with skills to carry out engineering work and manage improvements in production systems. You will build expertise in manufacturing strategies, including reconfigurable production systems, production engineering, and automation.

 

The program emphasizes the design and development of production systems
with a focus on sustainability. You will learn how to develop production systems with that prioritize sustainability, incorporating strategies for management and circular economy principles.

 

Simulation and automation are essential components of the programme, providing you with a holistic view of production systems and their interaction with the entire product realisation process. Our curiculum combines theoretical knowledge with practical case studies to ensure a well-rounded education.

 

Understanding the product realization process holistically allows you to appreciate the importance of integrating organizational functions, knowledge, and competencies to secure industrialization and production ramp-up to the required volumes, quality, and cost of products.

 

You will be provided with methods and tools for improving production solutions. Management aspects are included in many courses, equipping you with skills in leading and integrating production engineering during the new product realization process.

 

In the third semester, you will have the opportunity to study abroad, broadening your international perspective.

 

After graduation you will be a highly skilled engineer with a sustainable, innovative mindsets for future development of a complex and digitalized industry. The programme provides a good foundation for working in a wide range of industrial positions or an academic career - nationally or internationally. Possible roles include Production Engineer, Production Technician or Production Developer within manufacturing focusing on sustainability and industrialisation projects. You will also be able to work as a manager or as a consultant.

 

The programme also qualifies you to apply for continued postgraduate studies leading to an academic career.

Requirements: The applicant must hold the minimum of a bachelor´s degree (i.e the equivalent of 180 ECTS credits at an accredited university) with at least 90 credits in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and management, civil engineering, or equivalent. The bachelor’s degree should comprise a minimum of 15 credits in mathematics. Proof of English proficiency is required.
