Dr. Petra Inwinkl will hold her associate professorship lecture in Financial Accounting entitled Corporate Governance in Financial Institutions.
About the topic:
Countries are searching for a set of governance practices. Rules and regulations that will promote private and public non-governmental sector development – commonly referred to as Corporate Governance – have never been spoken about as much as over the last decade.
But looking back at the causes of the financial crisis 2007/2008, it is clear that Corporate Governance is one of the most important failures of the crisis the world still has to face today. The financial system at large did not carry out its tasks with enough consideration for the long-term interest of its stakeholders.
