Research and Teaching

Hamid’s research interests include Omni-Channel Retail and e-Commerce, Sustainability, and Supply Chain Management.

He is currently affiliated with the Department of Supply Chain and Operations Management at Jönköping University, where he has worked as a Program Manager with developing the first international bachelor’s program at the School of Engineering; namely, Industrial Engineering and Management – Sustainable Supply Chain Management.

Since 2009, Hamid has been involved in supervising theses, as well as developing and teaching in various courses at undergraduate and graduate levels on:

  • Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Logistics and Supply Chain Management
  • Marketing Management
  • Industrial (Business-to-Business) Marketing

His courses have constantly received high evaluations from the students, for which he was awarded the pedagogical prize for the Lecturer of the Year by the students at Jönköping International Business School in 2011/2012 and at the School of Engineering in 2017/2018.

In his research, Hamid has applied various methods including qualitative case studies and netnography, as well as survey-based structural equation modeling (SEM) and clustering. He has been affiliated with The Center for Logistics and Supply Chain Management (CeLS), and The Media Management and Transformation Center (MMTC) in several research projects including:

Biography

Born in 1983 in Tehran, Iran, Hamid is an Associate Professor (Docent) in Operations and Supply Chain Management, and holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Jönköping International Business School, Jönköping University.

Hamid earned an M.Sc. degree in Production Engineering and Management from Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. His thesis, “Innovation Management: Technology Strategies for Sustainable Vehicle Development”, was carried out under a project at Knowledge Integration and Innovation in Transnational Enterprise (KITE) Research Group at Linköping University.

He obtained his B.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering with specialization in Systems Analysis and Planning from K.N. Toosi University of Technology in Tehran. During his thesis work he worked on “Measuring and Predicting Customer Lifetime Value in Customer Loyalty Analysis” in a case study on an e-Tailer. During that period he was also involved in some Quality Management projects in the automotive industry.
